Introduction
The era of the ancient nomads is the period of the highest flourishing of the bone-cutting art of Eurasia. The main raw material for this art craft was whole horn (Borodovsky, 19996). Complete sets of horn bridle and harness ornaments were found in the Pazyryk mounds (Eastern Altai) [Rudenko, 1953, p. 150-160], Chendekeba [Kireev and Shulga, 2006, p. 90-99], Bereli (Southwestern Altai) [Samashev and Borodovsky, 2004], Sibiryachikha-1 (Northwestern Altai) [Borodovsky, 1988]; in Maima and Krasny Yar (Northern Altai) [Sergeev, 1946], Novy Sharap-2 [Troitskaya and Borodovsky, 1994, p. 93, 155], Rogozikha-1 (Upper Ob region) [Umansky, Shamshin, Shulga, 2005, p. 140-141]. Individual horn ornaments of the bridle are found in burials of the Gorny Altai (Chultukov Log-1, Talda-1), in the Upper Ob region (Vyatkino-1), and in the Barabinsk forest-steppe (Starye Karachi-3) (Borodovsky and Galyamina, 2001). A fairly representative set of horn parts of horse harness was discovered by A. N. Telegin in 2000. on the Priobskoye plateau (Fig. 1) in the Obezdnoye-1 mound group (mound 1, border 4) [2005]. Features of the funeral rite and the nature of the accompanying equipment (ceramics, a bronze cauldron, jewelry, weapons and horse equipment) allow us to date mound 1 of Detour-1 to the Scythian period (V-IV centuries BC) (Telegin and Borodovsky, 2005).
Composition of the subject complex
The remains of the saddle were located in the north-eastern corner of the central, looted, grave mound 1 of Bypass-1 (Fig. 2). Horn objects of horse harness are represented by five fragments of saddle pads (Fig. 3, 4), five suspensions (Fig. 5), two belt loops (Fig. 6, 1), a spring-loaded buckle (Fig. 6, 2) and fragments of the upper decorative plate of the saddle bow (Fig. 7, 1). Saddle horn shackles from Bypass-1 correspond to the details of Pazyryk saddles defined in the VI-V centuries BC. The dating objects include a spring-loaded horn buckle [Kireev and Shulga, 2006, p. 93] with a peg ...
