Asthma
Levolin 50mcg Inhaler is an anti-asthmatic medication that helps in preventing and treating breathing problems associated with asthma. It contains the active ingredient, levosalbutamol tartrate, which is a bronchodilator that works by widening the airways and relaxing them, thus helping you breathe easier. It is a metered dose inhaler and each time you press down on the actuator, it delivers 1 puff into your lungs. It is a fast-acting medication and should be taken immediately when symptoms appear. It is recommended to use it at least 4 times a day or as directed by your doctor.
Before using the inhaler, shake it well to ensure that the medicine is evenly distributed within the canister. Remove the cap of the mouthpiece and seal your lips around it. Breathe out through your mouth and place the inhaler in a position where it is facing downward. Activate the device by pressing down on the top of the metal canister with your middle finger. Release the button once a breath has been drawn in, wait for 10 seconds, and then breathe out fully through your mouth.
Usually, you will be prescribed another inhaler that is slow-acting to prevent the onset of symptoms (a preventer) and this should be used before you exercise or if you know you are going to come into contact with a known allergen. You should also be given a long-term control inhaler to be taken every day, and this can be taken at any time of the day.
