Hvorfor tyr USA til å eliminere ledere i andre nasjoner?

Denne artikkelen undersøker fenomenet USAs involvering i operasjoner for å fjerne utenlandske ledere, som har fått ny oppmerksomhet i forbindelse med de dramatiske hendelsene i 2025–2026 – bortføringen av Venezuelas president Nicolás Maduro og Irans øverste leder Ali Khameneis død i et felles amerikansk-izraelsk angrep. Basert på analyse av historiske dokumenter, ekspertvurderinger og internasjonale rettsnormer rekonstrueres utviklingen av USAs tilnærminger til bruk av tvangsmetoder for regimeskifte. Spesiell oppmerksomhet rettes mot motsetningen mellom det offisielle forbudet mot politiske attentater og den vedvarende praksisen med deres anvendelse under nye juridiske begrunnelser.
